Participate to an Offshore security course with us !

The AMEL Club continues its development with the setting up of a first activity. You are cordially invited to participate!

We propose you a 3 day sea safety course, allowing you to train and practice safety at sea. An essential basis for offshore sailing. Our yachts are safe and well equipped boats. However, the majority of accidents at sea are due to human errors. Being trained in avoiding risks and responding quickly to problems is essential to a safe navigation, whether in coastal or offshore sailing.

The program :

      • Theoretical courses on active and passive safety (equipment, weather, emergency procedures …)
      • Practical tests of pyrotechnic equipment (flares, hand lights, smoke …),
      • Practical liferaft test,
      • And for the most voluntary of you: test of TPS swimsuit (thermal-protection-survival) during man overboard exercise.

Practical details:

These courses will take place in La Rochelle from Friday the 23thd of March to Sunday the 25th.

The training will welcome groups up to 6 people. It will be supervised by AMEL and a trainer of the MACIF sailing center of La Rochelle. This sailing center is one of the two in France recognized by the ISAF-World Sailing for safety training at sea. We rely entirely on their expertise. We reserve the right to cancel or postpone a training session if less than 4 people are registered. It is also possible to organize an additional session during the year if you form a group of 6 members of the Club.

A financial contribution of 450 € per person, or 800 € per couple will be asked for the 3 days of training. This participation includes training, a lunchtime cold meal, and transport between your accommodation and the training center if you wish.

The practical exercises will take place aboard our AMEL 55 demoboat. It is a beautiful way to discover this boat for those of you who do not know it. From an educational point of view, your training will take place on board an AMEL, reproducing more accurately your actual navigation conditions.

You can contact me by email (relationclient@amel.fr) or by phone (+33 6 85 83 81 58) for any information request, or to register for a training session.
