Full details of the Amel 64’s new saloon

Announced at the beginning of the year, a new interior is now available for the Amel 64, our flagship. It represents a second possible choice for the future buyers. A detailed presentation of these developments is necessary! You will thus have both a glimpse of this new interior, and a vision of the future trends.

The modifications mainly concern the saloon, both in terms of layout of the various spaces, and design. Continuing in our perspective of modernizing our interiors, we wanted it even more airy, friendly and bright.

First notable evolution, you will notice the migration of the chart table from its former very central position, towards a more classic one at the foot of the companion-way on portside. In this configuration, the crew on watch is closer to the cockpit access if needed, while remaining close to the living area. The instruments positioned on the hull side remain visible from the kitchen and the living spaces. A reassuring watch remains therefore possible in navigation or at anchorage.

The space freed by the movement of the chart table is advantageously replaced by a lounge, a pleasant place for an aperitif, a reading session or a well deserved rest while remaining close to the companion-way and the middle of the boat. It is now in front of the dining area, forming a large square saloon that can accommodate a large number of people.

With the same openness of the living spaces, the kitchen has been redesigned. We have lowered the worktops that delimit it in order to clear the view and allow a person in the kitchen to exchange with his guests more naturally. This unobstructed view offers an impression of increased space.

The key words of the changes in our design are clarity and volumn. The clarity is provided by white upholstery, which highlight the pieces made of noble materials. The warmth of the atmosphere is provided by the woodworks on the floor, the drawers and the magnificent table top. The stainless steel brings lightness thanks to its brilliance and the purified forms that it allows to realize on the companion-way and the saloon table foot. Finally, the addition of glass pieces at the entrance of the kitchen and at the table’s foot underline this very refined rendering.

It is possible to choose between a very clear wood and a darker one. The interior in clear oak is aimed at lovers of extremely clear and modern atmosphere. The oak is lightly bleached and treated in “Hollow-pore”, technique revealing the asperities of the veinings, and with a satin varnish that prevents brilliance. In contrast, the more traditional sapelli mahogany brings all the warmth of its color and its veining. It is then treated in “full -pore”, which makes its surface totally smooth, and with a glossy varnish that returns the light and accentuate its colors and texture.

At night, the set of indirect lighting both on the floor and on the ceiling makes this new interior more muted. It also allows the lighting to be adapted to night navigation thanks to the always generous use of dimmers.
